Maison Orphee Fine Grey Sea Salt 250g

Description

Our Fine Grey Sea Salt is much more than just a seasoning. Hand-harvested from the salt marshes of Noirmoutier in France, this salt comes from the natural evaporation of water in clay-bottomed basins. Its grey colour, drawn from the clay, pairs with a refined taste, making it a great choice for food enthusiasts seeking subtle flavours.

Rich in minerals including sodium, magnesium, potassium, and calcium, along with trace elements like iron, manganese, and zinc, its drained and sifted crystals offer a remarkable texture!

Every year, we thoroughly examine our salt to detect five specific metals: lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, and copper. Testing consistently confirms that their levels remain well below the permitted limits, ensuring both the quality and safety of our product.

Our salt, harvested by hand in Noirmoutier Island's tidal marshes, does not undergo other techniques other than sun drying and grinding when you want to get a finer grain. This artisanal process leaves its natural grey colour to salt.

  • Use: Finishing touch
  • Peculiarities: harvested by hand - without additive - non-iodized
  • Origin: Island of Noirmoutier
